So far, we are all refugees of what Pink Floyd called: “the machine.” The soul-sucking routines, the pointless rituals, and the constant suffering of fools that thrive in corporate and academic institutions. Those days sapped us of our creative energy and left us comfortably miserable. So, despite our “success” in those worlds, we all shed our golden chains and fled toward the distant horizon of a more fulfilling existence.

Enter real estate with its promise of boundless opportunities and constant creative challenge! So, what do we do after we escape the grind with only shreds of our character still in tact? Most of us let fear and familiarity lead us to the formulaic business model and culture of a franchise brokerage.

And isn’t that a smart decision? After all, their models are tried-and-true. They are practically guaranteed to work! All you have to do is allow yourself to become yet another “I’m number one!” “Call me if you know anyone who wants to buy a home, sell a home, or invest in real estate” automaton. The reality has been that our creative souls sabotage any attempt to submit to such crass carnival hucksterism. Still, the worst part, by far, is to watch incompetent stooges, that don’t give a damn about their clients beyond the commission check, make piles of money as we struggle — mostly with ourselves.

Fortunately we found each other: Agents who, like us, insist that our service is an art and our intention is to be appreciated. That’s our job. We discover, we create, and we connect. We earn rewards for our ability to find, assemble and close great deals for our friends and become the obvious experts to the communities we care most about. Ultimately, what we have come to recognize is that our business is not real estate; its trust.

If you are a Colorado agent, and this reads familiar to you, we should talk.
